Morphological Characterization of Corynespora cassiicola Isolates in Culture Media

چکیده
Corynespora cassiicola threatens soybean and cotton production in Brazil. The objective of this study was to evaluate cultural morphological aspects C. isolated from different Brazilian regions, culture media. isolates were grown PDA (Potato Dextrose Agar) V8 juice agar characteristics evaluated were: color, aspect, growth rate mycelia, as well dimension conidia, number septa per conidium. Culture media compared using the Kruskal-Wallis or Tukey’s test at 5% significance level. mycelia predominantly dark gray light brown. grew better medium, presenting a higher mycelial rate. In conidia cotton, with isolates. There great variation regardless host origin. Conidia length width varied for isolate medium. coming presented conidium when vary depending on origin

Genomic insight into pathogenicity of dematiaceous fungus Corynespora cassiicola
Corynespora cassiicola is a common plant pathogen that causes leaf spot disease in a broad range of crop, and it heavily affect rubber trees in Malaysia (Hsueh, 2011; Nghia et al., 2008). The isolation of UM 591 from a patient's contact lens indicates the pathogenic potential of this dematiaceous fungus in human. However, the underlying factors that contribute to the opportunistic cross-infecti...
متن کاملAntagonistic Actinomycete XN-1 from Phyllosphere Microorganisms of Cucumber to Control Corynespora cassiicola
Strain XN-1 isolated from the cucumber phyllosphere was tested for potential application as an antagonistic actinomycete against Corynespora cassiicola (Berk.& Curt.)Wei. The fungistatic activity of this strain was determined by inoculation of C. cassiicola on PDA plates, spore germination inhibition in culture filtrate and control tests on cucumber leaves. The spore germination and hyphal grow...
متن کاملGenetic Determinism of Sensitivity to Corynespora cassiicola Exudates in Rubber Tree (Hevea brasiliensis)
An indirect phenotyping method was developed in order to estimate the susceptibility of rubber tree clonal varieties to Corynespora Leaf Fall (CLF) disease caused by the ascomycete Corynespora cassiicola. This method consists in quantifying the impact of fungal exudates on detached leaves by measuring the induced electrolyte leakage (EL%). The tested exudates were either crude culture filtrates...
متن کاملShort Communication First Report of Corynespora Cassiicola on Codiaeum Variegatum (croton) in Sri Lanka
Corynespora cassiicola was a devastating pathogen attributed to heavy leaf fall in susceptible clones of rubber (Hevea brasiliensis), in the mid-eighties in Sri Lanka. It is known to have a wide host range. This is the first report of C. cassiicola as a leaf pathogen of croton, Codiaeum veriegatum, an ornamental plant. This report emphasizes the possibility of C. cassiicola infecting new hosts ...
متن کاملGenome-Wide Analysis of Corynespora cassiicola Leaf Fall Disease Putative Effectors
Corynespora cassiicola is an Ascomycetes fungus with a broad host range and diverse life styles. Mostly known as a necrotrophic plant pathogen, it has also been associated with rare cases of human infection. In the rubber tree, this fungus causes the Corynespora leaf fall (CLF) disease, which increasingly affects natural rubber production in Asia and Africa. It has also been found as an endophy...
